Coombs House
Built in 1905 by James N. Coombs, the home was generally considered the most elegant residence in Apalachicola. Coombs was one of the town's most influential citizens; he turned down his party's nomination for Governor of Florida in 1900, and briefly was promoted as candidate for the U.S. vice-presidency in 1908.
A meticulous two year restoration project began in 1992, and the Victorian mansion is now one of Apalachicola's most elegant Bed and Breakfast Inns.
